George Douglas Berrow was born on June 17, 1950 to the late Charlene Berrow in Tylertown, MS. He departed this life on Monday, July 15, 2013.

George attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Atkins High School in 1970.

He was a member of Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church and a volunteer with the International River Run Festival.

George was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nelda, Sharon and Yvonne; and his grandson, George Janias Berrow.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his companion, Cheryl Parker Mouzon; three sons, Melvin Douglas Berrow, George Douglas Berrow, Jr. (Gertrude) and Olajuwon Berrow; four grandchildren, LaTadre Fleming, Ajahnta Berrow, Antwan and Chris; four brothers, William (Mary) Dean, Laurence and Charles Berrow, Mark (Adrienne) Williams, all of the city; 14 nieces; 11 nephews; an aunt, Mildred Dean, New Orleans, LA; several great nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Clark S. Brown and Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel.
