Ms. Cynthia Yvette Thompson, affectionately known as “Yvette” was born February 7, 1959 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Annie Mae Williams and David Mason. She departed this life Thursday February 23, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice after an extended illness.
She grew up in the Kimberly Park “Boston” neighborhood surrounded by family and friends. She was a graduate of Paisley High School class of 1968. She was later employed at Forsyth Hospital until her health declined.
She is preceded in death by her parents, aunt: Bernice Williams and two cousins: Vikki Williams and Patrica Jones.
Ms. Cynthia Yvette Thompson leaves to cherish in her memory: three aunts: Hazel (Sammy) Jones, Inez (Sinclair) McFadden both of Hemingway, SC, Ruth Lundy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, three sisters: Rolina Williams, Carolyn (Cletis) Holland, Lisa Williams, one brother: David Mason, four nieces: Robin Cyrus, Kasandra Williams, Shery Williams, Shera Williams, two nephews: Michael (Tjwana) Williams and Tremus Williams, Special friends: Wanda Diddle, Arlene Woods, Janet Caldwell and Ketitia “Tish” Myers, God daughter: Tonya and God son:“lil Reggie” all of Winston-Salem, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12 Noon at the funeral home.

Mrs. Betty Irene Hauser Giles, 76, passed away on February 1, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. She was born in Tobaccoville, NC on October 16, 1935 to the late William and Thressa Hauser.
She was a graduate of Carver High School and La-Mae Beauty College. Mrs. Giles was a retiree of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and a member of Center Grove AME Zion Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Robert Giles; four children: Robin, Carolyn, Bobby (Marilyn), and Senneca; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren; five sisters: one brother; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Center Grove AME Zion Church, Tobaccoville, NC. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
