Ms. Cassandra Gail Worthy, formerly of 1389 Holly Court, was born on October 2, 1957 to the late Wilbur Worthy and to Betty Simmons in Winston Salem, NC. She passed away on August 26, 2012.
She was a resident of Winston Salem, NC and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Ms. Worthy attended Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Forsyth Technical Institute on August 6, 1976. Ms. Worthy held several jobs throughout her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Worthy and her brother James Worthy; grandparents Jacob and Gladys Bohannon.
She is survived by her mother Betty (Terry) Simmons; a daughter and two sons, Anitra Worthy of Winston Salem; Anthony Worthy of Winston Salem; and Aaron Worthy of Winston Salem; seven grandchildren; Tyre Wilson, Amana Worthy-Thomas, Aaron Worthy Jr., Adrian Worthy-Thomas, Ariel Worthy, Aaron WorthyThomas, and Melanie Williford; a sister and two brothers; Roxanna Worthy, Leonard Worth; and Julius Worthy all of Winston Salem; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church, Rev. Stacey Frazier, pastor, Father Lawrence Womack, eulogist. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
