Mrs. Doris V. Eldridge

Doris Virginia Valentine Eldridge exchanged her earthly home for her heavenly home on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on July 20, 1941 to the late James and Okalee Valentine. In addition to her parents, her brother James, Jr. preceded her in death. Doris was a 1959 graduate of Carver High School. She was a faithful member of Bethania AME Zion, Winston-Salem, NC.
Leaving to cherish her memories are: her husband, David Eldridge, Sr. of the home; a loving and devoted mother of six children: Veronica (George) Trotter, David, Jr., Doris Marie (Rico) Santos, Darryl (Nancy) Eldridge, Denise and Melinda Eldridge; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth V. Speas; aunts: Melinda Lash and Frances Cloud of Winston-Salem, NC.
Funeral services were held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, November 24th at Bethania AME Zion Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Eloise Springs Neal was born March 21, 1921to the late Viola Arnold Springs and Tom Eli
Springs. Eloise attended Columbia Height Elementary School through eight grade. She lived her life here in
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. Eloise left this earth on November 17,2010 at the Hospice House in
Winston-Salem, NC.
She was proceeded in death by both her parents, husband (Willie Lee Neal), two daughters (Irma
and Lyndia), a son (Ronald A. Neal Sr.), four sisters (Mabel, Ruth, Georgia and Vivian), and one brother
Viotis all of Winston-Salem.
She leaves behind one daughter (Cynthia), three sons Leroy (Virginia), Gary and Dwayne, Two
sisters (Tomasue and Jacqueline), two brothers Harold Lee (Mary) and Herman Brian (Elaine), lifelong
friend and sister in law Grace Springs and a host of relatives and mends.

Mr, Henry Herman Shouse, 77, of 1710 Bethania-Rural Hall Road was born June 6, 1933 to the late Johnny and Minnie Bitting Shouse. He departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
Mr. Shouse was a 1955 graduate of Carver High school. He served in the United States Navy and was employed and retired from Old Town Telephone Company (Alltel).
Henry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-three years, Doris Morris Shouse of the home; brother, William T. Shouse; sisters: Anna (Joseph) Ervin, Margaret Scales, Hannah Eldridge and Mollie McLain; brothers-in-law: Allen (Alma) Morris, Carlos (Rosa) Morris and sister-in-law, Dorothy Graves, all of Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 23 at Bethania AME Zion Church. The family will meet with friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Vernard Edward Turner, 63, of Winston-Salem passed Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 13, 1947 in Forsyth County to William and Geneva Turner who predeceased him as well as his twin, Vernell.
Mr. Turner was a graduate of Anderson Senior High School where he was a member of the marching band. He was a mason and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Turner was an employee of RJ Reynolds Packaging.
His survivors include: his wife, Sonja of the home; one daughter, Dominique Hairston, of Toledo, OH; one stepson, Adonis Robinson of Denver, CO; one granddaughter, Rinnia Brim of Toledo, OH; one stepgranddaughter, Niyah Robinson of Denver, CO; one brother, Ibrahim Arrahim of Atlanta, GA; one niece; one nephew; several sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 PM on Thursday, November 11th in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday, November 12th. The family would like to thank 8 North of Forsyth Medical Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
