Miss Lisa C. Clarke
Lisa was born in Jamaica, NY, the daughter of Bonnie Lash Freeman and Keith Clarke. She was a beautiful light to all who had the opportunity to know and love her. She was the source of great joy, laughter and strength to her mother, father, sisters, grandmother, family and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church Highland Avenue, Winston Salem. The family will greet friends from 12 Noon until the funeral hour. Burial will follow at Baileytown Cemetery, Baileytown Church Road, Walnut Cove, NC.

Mrs. Elaine E. Hargraves
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Aldine Ingram., officiating. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Douglas
Mary was raised in Lewisville, NC . She was a member of New Hope AME Zion Church before moving to Winston-Salem, NC. She sang with The Bennett Family and The Lewisville Spiritual Singers. A stranger to none, and a friend to all, Lib was the adopted mother to many children. She was known as the candy lady in her neighborhood. She would tell the young children as they stopped by “pull your pants up, have your shirt on, before coming in my house, and don’t ring my door bell”. She was an avid cook, loved music, gardening and made the best deviled eggs. She was always a teacher in the midst of her fussing. Lib, taught many neighborhood children how to count money, proper dress and always to be your best.
Lib was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1961, where she played in the marching band. She was a retired employee of the Winston Salem Forsyth County School system. She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and John Arthur “Tim” Bennett.
She leaves to cherish her memory one faithful sister whom she loved dearly Jessie Marie “Tuttie Bug” Bennett Leak, and her cherished Brother in law Deacon Luther N. “Luke” Leak Jr. Two Sister in laws, Betty Bennett and Barbara Bennett. A host of devoted nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews, cousins, Morning Side Community Family and many friends.
Home going celebration will be at 12:30 PM on January 25, 2012 with family visitation from 12:00 Noon-12:30 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown and Sons Funeral, Rev. Charles W. Leak officiating, Bishop A.T. Griffey III, eulogist. Interment in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Darryl R. Saunders
Darryl was a 2001 graduate of Mt. Tabor High School. He worked at Domino’s Pizza and Atrium Windows and Doors in Welcome, NC. He began his career at Steak and Shake Restaurant as a counter person and worked his way up to 3rd shift Assistant Manager.
In addition to his parents, Darryl leaves to behind to cherish his memories his future wife, Shanna Young; 2 brothers: Larry L. Saunders and Dennis Ray (Kenya) Cole; sister, Chantia L. Saunders; two nephews and two nieces who were raised like brothers and sisters and will greatly miss their “Uncle”: Alex Saunders, Michael Edwards, Asia and India Baines; grandmother, Celeste Monroe; three aunts: Josephine (Paul) Gambil, Linda Thompson and Brenda Thompson; a very close cousin, Yetesha Thompson; two great aunts: Alice Royster and Gracie Stimpson; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Reverend Glen A. Johnson, Sr.
Elder Glen Anthony Johnson, Sr. was born on September 13, 1948, in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Mrs. Belma Dobson and the late Rev. Willie “Jack” James Pellam. He entered into heavenly rest on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 42 years, Mrs. Rita Littlejohn Johnson, his son Glen Anthony Jr. (Stacey) Johnson, and his daughter Joy (Ben Jr.) Johnson Coleman of the city.
Elder Glen attended the local public schools and was a 1967 graduate of Anderson High School.
Elder Glen was a talented artist who obtained professional training at the NC School of the Arts. His recent art work was displayed at Winston Salem State University and the Delta Arts Center. He owned a business called “I Can Draw You,” and even sold his art work at Cooks Flea Market.
Elder Glen was a gentleman of great faith. He was the former pastor of First Church of God in Christ. He served in the maintenance department and was a cell leader at St. Peters World Outreach Church and Center.
Elder Glen is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Belma Dobson, stepmother, Clara Pellam and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Robin Hughes of the city; his sisters: Janie Brewton, Arthelia (Donald Sr.) Moser, Carolyn Canty, Regina Dobson-Johnson, Cynthia (Waymon) Pellam Bruton, and Jenny (Donald) Pellam Galloway of the city; his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Littlejohn of Baltimore, MD and Robin (Eddie) Hood of Manhattan, NY; his brother-in-law, Jamal (Millie) Littlejohn of the city; his grandchildren: Armani, Benjamin III, Josiah, Nathan, and Genesis; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Homegoing celebration will be on January 13, 2012 at 12pm (Visitation from 11:30am-12pm) at St. Peters World Outreach Church and Center, Bishop J. C. Hash Sr. is the presiding pastor. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Conrad E. Lash
Mr. Lash was skilled in many areas including but not limited to: Auto/Diesel Mechanic, Logging, Welding, Carpentry and Plumbing. He retired after 30 years of service as an electrician with Ogburn Electric Company.
Mr. Lash was a faithful member of Bethania AME Zion Church where he served on the Steward and Trustee Boards prior to his health declining.
Conrad was preceded in death in 1997 by his wife of 58 years, Willie Mae Hauser Lash; four brothers: Joseph, James, Kenneth and Kenyon Lash; and one sister: Pauline Lash Sims.
He is survived by three sons: Edward (Betty) Lash of Winston-Salem, Willie G. (Murlene) Lash of Lanham, Maryland and Donald Lash, of Winston-Salem; a devoted niece whom he raised, Sheron Richardson; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one brother, William (Barbara) Lash of Wilmingotn, Delaware; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Lash of Winston-Salem and Ann Lash of Chester, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Bethania AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
