Mr. David J. Cannady, Jr.
David J. Cannady, Jr. was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 6, 1958 to David and Juanita Cannady, Sr. David departed this life unexpectedly on March 30, 2013.
“Beaver”, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Reynolds High School and continued his education at Guilford Technical Community College where he was certified in HVAC.
Mr. Cannady was a member of John Wesley AME Zion Church, where he served as an usher and choir member. He was also a member of the spiritual booster club of the church. “Beaver” would always lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild. The memory of a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and cousin will forever be cherished by his parents; a daughter, Chastity Barber; two sons, Xavier and Kenneth Conrad; ten grandchildren; three brothers, Oliver (Patricia) Cannady, Thomas Cannady and Bronell (Michelle) Cannady; three sisters, Debra Smith (Paul Patterson), Soncerae (Clifton Jr.) Jones and Helen (Danny) Moore; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 5, 2013 at John Wesley AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas E. Harper
Mr. Harper was a retired employee of General Dynamics in Detroit, MI where he spent most of his adult life. Following retirement, he returned to Winston-Salem where he has resided for nearly 20 years. Mr. Harper enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church, Advance, NC.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Harper of Detroit, MI; his favorite nephew, Harry (Doris) Harper of Inglewood, Ca; niece, Lucy Slater; cousins, Ida C. Alby, Melvin (Elizabeth) Mock, Harold (Elvania) Crews, William (Belinda) Crews, Ernestine Holman, Henry Peebles, and Katie Sue (Lester) Arnold.
A service in Mr. Harper’s memory will be held at a time and place to be announced later. (Clark S. Brown & Sons)

Mr. Louis Scott
He attended Paisley High School and served in the United States Army. He retired from Westinghouse Turbine Plan after 25 years of service.
Pop Pop was preceded in death by his parents and a son. Those who survive him and will forever cherish his memory are daughters: LaTeesha (Doug) Mungin of Charlotte, NC; Nicole Niang and Le’Von Scott; one son Troas Shackleford of Winston-Salem, NC; Granchildren, D.J., Laila, Gabrielle, Jordan, Sanaa, Johnathan, Serenity, Josiah, Azaiaih and Jasun; sisters, Trosia (Ashby) Champagne, Lettie (Jack) Hope, and Roberta Scott; brothers, James and Joe Scott and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A service in his memory will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
