Mr. Robert C. Kimber

Robert Calvin Kimber, son of the late William Pearson Kimber and Fannie Percy Kimber, was born April 10, 1935 in Yadkin County, North Carolina.  Bob departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Hospice and Palliative Care in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-four years, Phyllis Martin Kimber in 2010.
 
Bob, also affectionately known as Bud, was a graduate of Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and later joined the United States Armed Forces in 1958.  He later retired from the City of Winston-Salem Utilities Division.  Bob was very involved in his community where he attended Goler Memorial AME Zion Church.
 
Bob leaves to cherish his memory, two children, Robert Martin Kimber and Emily Marie Kimber, both of the home; four granddaughters, Ayo, Monet, Michaela and Shamayla; one sister, Carolyn Dunlop of New York, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. James C. Bonner

Our beloved James Charles (a.k.a. Sam) Bonner, 61, fought a good fight and finished this course of life unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. James was born on January 13, 1951 to Opal Bonner and the late Lee Causer, Sr.

He attended the WS/FC Schools and was a super track star at Anderson Jr. and Sr. High School. He furthered his education in engineering. He was employed by Sara Lee until the company ceased operation and was currently employed by Enterprise and Abbotswood Retirement Community, both in Greensboro, NC.

In addition to his mother, James leaves to cherish his loving and caring memories his wife of 40 years, Christine A. Bonner; his five children: Diane (Charles) Hawkins of Winston-Salem, Lorraine (James) Scarborough of New York, John Young of Philadelphia, Cynthia (Leroy) Solomon and Cornelia Stephney of South Carolina; five brothers: his youngest whom he adored, Marvin D. (Eloise) Bonner of Winston-Salem, Lee Jr., Michael, Anthony and Marcus Causer, all of Way Cross, GA; eleven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one aunt, Gracie Armstrong; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Larry A. Boyd, officiating. The family will visit with friends 30 minutes prior to the services. The family may be contacted at the home, 905 Motor Road.

Mrs. Victoria A. Petree

Mrs. Victoria Annette Parker Petree, 46, passed away, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 10, 1967 to the late Herman C. and Odessa L. Bristol. Mrs. Petree was employed by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and the City of Winston-Salem before her health began to fail. A year and a half ago, Victoria accepted Christ into her life and began to serve the Lord everyday and attended church every Sunday. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Kelvin Lenard Petree; one sister, Linda Bristol Brannon (Jose' Perez); two sons: Antione Parker (Joy Allen) and Derrick Parker (Tashema Wiley Parker); one step-daughter, Taneisha Bowman; five grandchildren: Derrick Parker, Jr., Arisha Parker, Tyrese Allen, Kedirck Parker, Dedrick Parker, and Kayla Parker; one sister-in-law, Cynthia (Samuel Jerome) Smith; two nieces; five nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2012 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends 30 minutes prior to the service in the chapel.
