Mr. James Porter

Mr. James Bernard Porter, son of the late Bernard and the late Carolyn Porter, was born May 2, 1960 in Winston-Salem, NC and departed this life Thursday, December 3, 2009.

James “Binky” Porter was a native of this city and a graduate of Parkland High School. He was employed by Salem Kitchen. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, Corey Little; two sisters, Cheryl and Angela Porter; an uncle, Emmanuel “Walt” Porter, three aunts: Wanda Nichols, Jacqueline and Dorothy Porter.

His survivors are his sisters: Patrice Porter and Kia Bowman of the city; Bernadine Hughes of Charlotte, NC, Cynthia, Tanzie and Sheree, all of California; brothers: Jonathon and Martin Porter; aunts: Rosa Robinson, Iris Barr, Emma Parham, Gloria Porter, Lois Wilkins, Betty Hash, Arnita Steeler and Helen Porter, all of the city; uncles: James Nichols, James Durant, Theodore and Timothy Porter; a special cousin, Tammy Ross; his life companion, Iris Fulton and God daughters, Jermeka and Kesha Fulton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

God, I am your grateful child who loves and serves you. Thank you for the rich inheritance of your blessings in my life. Amen.

Funeral services were held on December 7, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home with Bishop Todd Fulton, officiating.
