Mr. John C. Staten

John Clinton Staten was born on August 14, 1955 to the late Lucille Staten Rice and Robert “Bubba” Aikens. John went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. John attended RJ Reynolds High School and later joined the United States Navy. He made a career in the Navy and went to RTC/NTC in Great Lakes, IL later serving on the USS Trenton (LPD-14) and the NTTC Meridian, Miss. and two tours of duty on the USS John F. Kennedy (CV67). After being honorably discharged, he cared lovingly for his mother and became a caregiver aide NA-MA-VA. John attended Saints Home Methodist Church and St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Marvin “Bob” Staten and James “Pee Wee” Staten. He leaves to mourn his passing, his sister-in-law, Patricia Staten; two aunts, Annie S. Ford and Mary S. Owens of McKeesport, PA; nieces: Hellena, Leslie and Pamela Staten; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Staten will be buried in Salisbury National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
