Mr. Roland Tennyson Wade

Mr. Roland Tennyson Wade was born in Winston-Salem on April 2, 1948 to the late Jimmy Cook and Agnes Wade Cook. On Monday, April 21, 2014 he entered into eternal rest at Forsyth Medical Center.
Tenn grew up in Happy Hill Gardens. He attended Diggs Elementary School and Anderson Junior/Senior High School. He received his early pre-school education and Christian Training at St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Following graduation, he obtained a job with Duke Energy (formerly Duke Power) where he worked as a lineman and a lineman supervisor for 30 years. “Tenn” as most people called him, retired from Duke Energy in 2000. He then worked for AC Delco until his passing. In his quiet time after retirement, he was often helping someone in his neighborhood; walking his dogs – Miss “C” and Kelby; doing yard work; watching TV; or just lying around the house.
Tenn was a dedicated and lifetime member of the J. H. Anderson Alumni Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother Minnie Lewis Mock Holden; his Uncle Edward Mock; his brother Rev. Lawrence Leon Wade, Sr.; his Aunt Laura Mae Griffith; his cousin Marilyn Griffith Turner; his brothers Edward, Ralph and Johnny Cook; his sisters Eloise Cook-Johnson and Ellen Cook-Temple both of Baltimore MD.
To treasure and cherish happy memories of Tenn are: his longtime love, Linda Wright; his sons: Kevin Wade (Dayna) and Dias Wade (Leah) and their mother, Cynthia Crosby; his daughter TaMonica Wright; his brothers Rev. Eddie L. Wade of Albany, GA; Alfred Wade of Winston-Salem, NC; Herbert Cooke of Camden, SC; Rev. George William Cook of Chesapeake, VA; his sisters Ethel L. Cook of Baltimore, MD; Marcella Cook of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grand and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour in the chapel.
