Ida Hazlip Lash ended her earthly walk with us to fly among God’s chosen angels on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Born on October 16, 1914 to the late George and Lillie Hazlip in Forsyth County, North Carolina, she was a devoted mother and domestic worker.

A sweet Christian lady who loved her family, she was a loyal and faithful member of Bethlehem AME Zion Church in Pfafftown. Ida was always known as a wonderful cook who loved it best when people were enjoying her food.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Hazlip and Lillie Warren; husband, James E. Lash; her daughter, Lillie Burgin; three sisters, Treva Stimpson, Betty Ruth Bullock and Mary Francis Coggins; and one brother, Thomas Warren.

She is survived by two sons, James E. Lash (Loretta) and George Wayne Lash; one daughter, Linda Arlene Boone; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Bethlehem AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Bethlehem AME Zion Cemetery.
