Mr. Charles Scott

Our beloved Charles Scott was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 13, 2014. Charles was born on December 21, 1938 to the late Alexander and Annie Pearl Ewings Scott in Laurinburg, NC.
Charles Scott graduated from Leak High School in Rockingham, NC where he was a drummer in the marching band. Charles was an excellent baseball player. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1968 after serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Scott worked for many years at Thomasville Furniture and retired from Wake Forest University where he was a repair engineer.
Mr. Scott was a dedicated member of Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. He loved to help people and was dedicated man of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley D. Scott and five brothers: Alexander, Jr., Eddie, Bobby, John and James William. He is survived by his grandson, Letavius Scott of Rockingham, NC; two sisters: Louise Pate and Carrie Lee Chatman, both of Laurinburg, NC; special nephew, Martin Pate, III; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend and devoted caregiver, Sebrina Diane Long; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Salisbury National Cemetery.
