Mr. Arthur Leon Bitting “Duck”, 50, passed away on June 4, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1961 in Forsyth County to John C. and Carol Bitting Young. Arthur attended the local schools and graduated from South Park High School where he played basketball and football. “Duck” loved sports, especially basketball. His favorite team was the San Antonio Spurs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bitting is survived by his son, Maurice Brown; his brother, John C. (Irene) Young, Jr.; a niece, Johnetta Young and nephew, Jonathan Young; three aunts: Diane Bitting, Shirley (George) Robinson and Gwendolyn (Raymond) Sorrell; two uncles: Bernard (Vivian) Bitting and Lonnie R. Young; several cousins, his “homeboys” and many, many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Matthew Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, Inc with Bishop Joseph P. Lowery, Pastor and eulogist. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
