Mrs. Lucy A. Lindsey
Lucy Ann Stokes Lindsey was born September 28, 1923 in Rockingham county to the late Robert Douglas Stokes and Belle Martin Stokes. Mrs. Lindsey moved to Winston-Salem where she was a graduate of the public schools.
Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a loving mother and enjoyed caring for her children and others. Children were a joy to her, she loved to babysit for family and friends.
Mrs. Lindsey spent many years employed at Old Dominion Box Company. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church until her health declined.
On Friday, December 25, 2015, Mrs. Lindsey peacefully passed into eternal rest in Kernersville, NC following a period of illness. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Janice L. Purcell and Georgia L. Mills.
Those who are left to cherish special memories of her are: two daughters, Margie L. Graves and Jacqueline L. Hopson; one son, Danny Lindsey of Alabama; five grandchildren; two sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
