Mrs. Cora Jane Burns, 84, spent her first day in Glory on Thursday, June 9, 2011. She went peacefully surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Burns is survived by her daughter, Rona of Winston-Salem, NC; son, Charles (Lula) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Lia (Yonas) Melakou of Alexandria, Va, Shana (Akaron) Davis of Manassas Park, Va; Devin Burns of Greensboro, NC and one great-granddaughter, Summer Davis. She is also survived by sisters: Mattie (Moses) Williams-Vincent of Rural Hall, NC, Deadra Turner of Decatur, Ga and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, June 13th in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Hospice of Winston-Salem or the ALS/Catfish Hunter Foundation.
