Mr. Joe Scott

Mr. Joe Glenn Scott was born on October 7, 1941 in Davie County to the late James P. and Catherine Booe Scott. Joe graduated from Paisley High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Hanes Company after more than 40 years experience with the company.

On Thursday, October 3, 2013, Joe passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Scott and sister, Louise Scott.

Those who survive him and who will cherish his memory include three devoted sisters: Trosia (Ashby) Champagne, Lettie (Jack) Hope and Roberta Scott, his caregiver; one devoted brother, James Scott; nine nieces and nephews: Edna Champagne of Raleigh, NC, LaTeesha (Doug) Mungin of Charlotte, NC, Ashby Champagne, Mark Champagne, Carlin Hope, Janel Hope, Nicole Scott, Levon Scott and Toras Shackleford; thirteen great nieces and nephews: Tremaine, Rosalyn, Lee, Douglas, Jr., Laila, Reggie, Kassidy, Aziah, Jason, Jonathan, Sanaa and Stephon; special cousin, Mary Scott of Mocksville, NC; a devoted friend for life, Nathaniel (Pat) Hairston.

A special thanks to Dr. Lee, 11th floor Ardmore Tower and Dr. V, 4th floor Reynolds Tower ICU and their staff at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Salisbury National Cemetery.
