Mrs. Annie L. Williams

Mrs. Annie L. Williams was born October 18, 1921 in Chester, South Carolina to the late Otis Bradford and Sadie McClinton Truesdale. She was reared in Charlotte, NC and attended Second Ward High School. She later moved to Winston-Salem, NC, where she met and married the late Roger F. Williams. Mrs. Williams retired from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She was a very active member of St. John CME Church for 75 years. She was a member of Stewardess Board, Missionary Society and Sunday School. Mrs. Williams was the last surviving member of the Ladies of the Elite Social Club. She departed this life quietly and serenely Monday, June 16, 2014 in her home, surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her loving memories three daughters: Arlene V. Simmons, Kaye F. (Larry) Cook, and Jean W. (Rev. Walter L.) Funderburk; a special son, Bishop Lawrence L. Reddick, III; four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two sisters: Mille T. Davidson and Carolyn R. Higgins; two brothers: J. Kelsey (Beatrice) Truesdale and Henry B. Rochell; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. John CME Church with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM, Rev. Peris L. Lester, I, officiating. Interment in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
