Almetris "Denise" Wilson King (Gaga) was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Henry M. and Mildred S. Wilson, on October 30, 1967. She departed this life on November 7, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Denise was a 1985 graduate of Parkland High School. She was a former employee of the Winston-Salem' Transit Authority, Forsyth Medical Center and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.
She was a member of Mount Able Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Along with her parents, Denise was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Bitting and Juanita Glenn.
She leaves to cherish precious memories a daughter, Quanecia Rhynes; a son, James Rhynes; and a granddaughter, Amani Kelly, all of the home; a sister, Valerie (Harvey) Dees, of the city; four brothers, Henry (Alma) Wilson, Jr., of Phoenix, AL; Fred (Carol) Wilson, Kenneth (Savier) Wilson, and Tyrone Forbus, all of the city; a god sister, Chareesta Handy; three aunts, Nathalie (Johnny) Love of Charlotte, NC, Janice Sims of Virginia Beach, VA and Judy Martin of the city; three uncles, Lawrence (Blondie) Smith of Lexington, NC, George (Cynthia) Sims of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sam Young of the city; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home with Elder Pamela Ferrer, officiating. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
