Mr. Capers E. Perry

Capers Edward Perry peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a period of illness.
He was born to the late George Norman Perry and Pauline Weaver Perry in Winston-Salem, NC on August 23, 1943.
Mr. Perry was a gold star member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where he faithfully served with the music and culinary ministries of the church. He also served as Church Sexton.
Capers retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company following 32 years of dedicated service. He also gave honorable service for his country in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arneta L. Perry and a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby (Jetty) Perry.
Survivors include his children, SchrRon (Clifford) Lawrence, Sherard (Lakisha) Edwards, Brooke Perry Darby and TwaKenna Spann; 11 grandchildren; his siblings, Norman Perry, Sr., Carl L. (Lamar) Perry, Gila P. Hamilton and Janice P. (George) McLendon; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
A celebration of Capers’ life will be held at 12 pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
