Mr. Marilyn J. Friend of 3460 Triangle Drive, Winston – Salem, NC; drifted into eternal rest Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Lovingly known as “Pee Wee”, was born in Kernersville, NC on March 11, 1936 to Ira Friend and Minnie Warren Friend. He was a retiree of Brown, Rogers Dixson where he was employed for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, nine brothers, two sisters, and his wife, Ida Louise Friend. He is survived by his six children Alice Friend, Telesa Friend, James Friend, Sharon (Robert) Barnes, Lavern (Marcus) McConnell and Terrence (Teketia) Friend, all of Winston – Salem, NC, 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Friend will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Second New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:30 AM and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
