Mr. Curtis L. Cockerham

Mr. Curtis Leander Cockerham was born on March 16, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Thurmond Phillip Cockerham and Mattie Pauline Martin Cockerham.
He attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School. Following graduation, he attended North Carolina Central University in Durham. Mr. Cockerham subsequently entered Kate Bitting Hospital’s School of X-Ray Technology in Winston-Salem and upon completion worked as an x-ray technician for Kate Bitting Hospital. He was most recently employed by Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. Cockerham passed away at his home unexpectedly on Friday, September 5, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those family members who survive and who will forever cherish fond memories of him include his sons, Cory Cockerham and Shawn Cockerham; his sisters, Connie C. Martin of Columbus, OH and Valeria C. (David) Butler of Cleveland, OH; a brother, Vernon Cockerham of Detroit, MI; an aunt, Gracie Lee Martin of Cleve-land, OH; an uncle, Warren Martin of North Wilkesboro; four nephews, Tommy Martin and Gregg Martin of Columbus, OH , Darryl Butler of St. Louis, MO and Damon Butler of Raleigh, NC; and many other family members and friends.
