Odessa “Granny” Ingram Covington

Mrs. Odessa “Granny” Ingram Covington of 3590 Carver School Road entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Forsyth Hospital, after a brief illness. Mrs. Covington was born in Anson County on April 3, 1916.
She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she formally served on the Galaxy Club, Missionary Circle #10 and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Covington retired from the WS/FC School System, Speas Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Marcellus and Mary Huntley Ingram; husband, Eller Hinson Covington; daughter, Sarah Patricia Wade; brothers: Frank, William, Jr., Thomas and Goldie; sisters: Maddie, Lilly, Odie, Elsie and Alice.
She is survived by daughters: Lee Esther (Sonny) Wright and Delray Cox, her caregiver; grandchildren: Katrina (Stevie) Bullock, Rita Oti, Kerry Wade, Brian (Kim) Smith, Marcus (Ashely) Smith, Monnette Smith; great grandchildren: Latoya, Jamaal (caregiver), Kedron, Jasmine, Jahnay and Deja; and two great great-grandchildren, Dionte and Jacolby.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at 12:30 PM on Thursday at Shiloh Baptist Church.
