David J. Cannady, Jr. was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 6, 1958 to David and Juanita Cannady, Sr. David departed this life unexpectedly on March 30, 2013.

“Beaver”, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Reynolds High School and continued his education at Guilford Technical Community College where he was certified in HVAC.

Mr. Cannady was a member of John Wesley AME Zion Church, where he served as an usher and choir member. He was also a member of the spiritual booster club of the church. “Beaver” would always lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild. The memory of a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and cousin will forever be cherished by his parents; a daughter, Chastity Barber; two sons, Xavier and Kenneth Conrad; ten grandchildren; three brothers, Oliver (Patricia) Cannady, Thomas Cannady and Bronell (Michelle) Cannady; three sisters, Debra Smith (Paul Patterson), Soncerae (Clifton Jr.) Jones and Helen (Danny) Moore; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 5, 2013 at John Wesley AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
