Mr. Lee Council Grier

Mr. Lee Council Grier was born in Forsyth County to the late Robert L. and Ruth L. Grier. He passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on November 19, 2012.
Mr. Grier was a graduate of Carver High School and attended NC A & T State University. He enjoyed the transportation industry and was a driver for the Safe Bus Company and logged many miles as a tractor trailer driver. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after more than twenty-eight years of dedicated service.
Mr. Grier was honorably discharged from the United States Navy following a tour of duty during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Skyland Park Community Club #3 and a life-long member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Grier was preceded in death by his oldest and only sister, Veritas G. Jones.
Mr. Grier is survived his wife of 48 years, Rudine Ray Grier; two brothers, Robert L. and Lawrence W. Grier; two devoted nieces, Ruth Sherard and Patricia Grier; four nephews; a great nephew, Keith (Keely) Sherard; a great-great nephew, Keith Sherard, Jr. “KJ”; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family with meet with friends thirty minutes prior to the funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
