Mr. Darryl R. Saunders

Mr. Darryl Ray Saunders was born Super Bowl Sunday, January 30, 1983, the youngest son of Gwendolyn Saunders and James Ray Monroe. “Big D” as he was known to his friends and family, passed away peacefully in his sleep, two weeks shy of his 29th birthday on January 17, 2012.
Darryl was a 2001 graduate of Mt. Tabor High School. He worked at Domino’s Pizza and Atrium Windows and Doors in Welcome, NC. He began his career at Steak and Shake Restaurant as a counter person and worked his way up to 3rd shift Assistant Manager.
In addition to his parents, Darryl leaves to behind to cherish his memories his future wife, Shanna Young; 2 brothers: Larry L. Saunders and Dennis Ray (Kenya) Cole; sister, Chantia L. Saunders; two nephews and two nieces who were raised like brothers and sisters and will greatly miss their “Uncle”: Alex Saunders, Michael Edwards, Asia and India Baines; grandmother, Celeste Monroe; three aunts: Josephine (Paul) Gambil, Linda Thompson and Brenda Thompson; a very close cousin, Yetesha Thompson; two great aunts: Alice Royster and Gracie Stimpson; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
