Ms. Rebecca G. Black

Ms. Rebecca Georgianna Black departed this life at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on July 6, 2015 following a brief period of illness.

She was born to the late Wallace Black and Marie LeGrand Black in Forsyth County, North Carolina on February 10, 1950.

Ms. Black was a product of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and a graduate of A. H. Anderson Senior High School. She was a professional Cosmetologist who served many patrons in the Happy Hill Gardens Community.

She was a member of United Memorial Church where she faithfully served as a member of the choir.

Ms. Black is survived by her loving and devoted children, Roderick (Soraya) Stewart of Atlanta, GA and Katie Black of the city; her grandson, Roderick Stewart, Jr. of Charlotte; four sisters, Marie Wilson, Audrey Thompson, Maybell (Benny) Warren and Laverne (Leon) Taylor; her brother, Wallace (Beverly) Black, Jr.; special friends, Rosalyn Davis, Barbara Page and Gloria Rose; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Clark S. Brown and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John P. Williams, Jr. as Eulogist. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service at 12:30 pm at the chapel.
