Mrs. Beatrice Caldwell Rorie

Mrs. Beatrice Caldwell Rorie, 76, also known as "Bea" was born to the late Pearl and George Caldwell on June 14, 1937 in Winston-Salem, NC. She attended the local public schools and was a 1955 graduate of Atkins High School. She worked for many years at Smith Dry Cleaners and after 20 years of service, she retired from R.J Reynolds Tobacco Company. Mrs. Rorie was a life long member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She departed this life unexpectedly on November 4, 2013.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Rorie. She is survived by her brother, Eugene H. Caldwell of Winston-Salem, NC; her sister, Minnie L. Caldwell of Rochester, NY; a devoted and special niece, Cassandra Greene-Walker of Rural Hall, NC; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
A service to celebrate the life she lived will be held at 1 :00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Leach, Sr., Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Rorie's honor to: The Golden Ages of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1400 Fitch Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. There will be no public viewing of Mrs. Rorie.
