Mr. Robert Q. Harrington

Mr. Robert Quincy Harrington was born on June 25, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Helen Harrington Soney. Quincy as he was affectionately known was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system, attending both Atkins and Paisley High Schools. He completed HVAC training at Forsyth Technical Community College. Quincy served in the US navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971. Professionally, he worked at Hanes Dye and Finishing Company as a boiler technician. He held several positions in other companies and was often called upon to repair air conditioners and washer and dryers. Quincy was a gentle and caring man who love children and was a friend to many. He loved to fish and continued to believe he would one day be able to return to the activities he enjoyed before his health declined. Quincy passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Springwood Care Center after a period of illness. He is survived by a daughter, Anjonette Harrington Wade; grandson, Cameron Wade; sister, Linda Harrington Jones; brothers: Ralph G. (Yolanda) Soney and Larry Dunovant; nephews: Dedrick Jones and Garrit Harrington Soney; several cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family greeted friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment in Salisbury National Cemetery.
