Mrs. Gladys G. Lee

Mrs. Gladys Grier Lee passed away Friday November 7, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Greenville, SC to the late Ilar Bruton Grier and John Grier. Mrs. Lee was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Atkins High School. She was a faithful and lifelong member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the Senior Choir. After many years, Mrs. Lee retired from the WS/FC School System where she served as lead custodian at Kennedy Middle School and The Downtown School. Her community involvements included membership with Camel City Elks Lodge #220 and North Side Bowling League. Survivors include a special loving and devoted sister-daughter, Dorothy G. Chaplin, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. At other times the family may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Dorothy Chaplin, 1624 Rockford Street.
