Mr. Robert E. Leak, Sr.

Mr. Robert Elder Leak, Sr. was born February 14, 1930 in Badin, North Carolina to the late Noah and Dezzie Leak. He departed this life on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
He is survived by five daughters: Andreia (Allen) Campbell, Antoinette Leak, Gloria (Reginald) Davis, Robin (Ronnie) Andrews of Atlanta, GA; two sons: Robert Elder LEak, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Charleston Leak of Charlotte, NC; two brothers: Rev. Charles (Olivia) Leak and Luther (Jessie) Leak; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 28 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted employee of Goodwill Industries of Northwest, NC. Mr. Leak was also a self-employed concrete finisher for thirty-five years.
He was a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church where he served as a Prayer Leader and member of the Senior Choir. He has been diligent and committed in community organizations such as: Forsyth County Democratic Party, Winston-Salem Black Caucus, Winston-Salem NAACP, Southside United Health Wellness, C.H.A.N.G.E. Organization, Neighbors for better neighborhoods and Waughtown Business Association.
Mr.Leak received numerous awards, such as: 2003 Hero Strength Award by Boy Scout Troop #803 of Goler Memorial AME Zion Church, 2005 Dedication Award for service by St. Mark Baptist Church, 2010 Appreciation Award for service by the Easton Neighborhood Association and 2010 Service Award by the Winston_Salem African American Black Caucus Branch. He was also recognized as an outstanding Community Volunteer by Mayor Allen Joines and the City Council of Winston-Salem.
The family would like to give special thanks to Barbara Bennett and Doctors Gerald Fromson and Patricia Zekan, Scott Moore and Doctors Kinsley, Barush and Kendell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Salisbury National Cemetery.
