Mr. James A. Crutchfield, Sr.

Mr. James A. “Snook” Crutchfield Sr. departed this earthly life on October 10, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on April 3, 1923 to the union of the late Della Miller Crutchfield and Frank Forrest Crutchfield in Forsyth County. He was married to the late Julia Mae Lash Crutchfield who preceded him in death in 2002. They were married for 55 years.
James attended Oak Grove School, and later enlisted in the army and fought in World War II. He worked at Talton Professional Photos as a dark room specialists and where he later retired. To his union to Julia Mae Lash Crutchfield, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his sons Forrest Wayne (Cynthia) Crutchfield, and James Alexander (Carolyn) Crutchfield Jr., and a sister Louise Crutchfield (Robert) Shouse.
He is survived in death by his daughters, Gloria (Rayvon) Cuthrell, Carolyn Pearson, Helene “Belinda” Robinson, and Marilyn (Jerry) Boyd; one son Reginald Pearson; twelve grand kids; seven great grand kids; one great great grandchild; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. James A. Crutchfield Sr. will be 12:30 pm, October 15, 2012, at the Bethania AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Louis Hunter, pastor officiating. Family visitation will be from 12:00 to 12:30pm at the church prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Bethania AME Zion Church Cemetery.
