Ms. Naomi M. Crawford

Ms. Naomi Miller Crawford was born March 27, 1940 to the late Mr. Milas and Mrs. Martha Smith Miller in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She departed this life Saturday morning June 2, 2012.
 
She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church for over 40 years. She joined under the leadership of the late Rev. J.S. Mickens. She was a member of the spiritual choir, an active member of the Sunday school, and the Mother of White Rock Baptist Church. She was the founder and sponsor of the Naomi F. Crawford Scholarship Educational fund. She worked with Paul Myers catering and she retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years.
 
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Minister Mary O. Grimes and Mrs. Ruth Hughes and brothers Milas Jr., Billy Sr., Samuel, David, and Lewis Miller.
 
Ms. Crawford is survived by her children: daughters: Cassandra, Cheryl, and Cornella Crawford, all of the city. Cherry Crawford of Alexandria, VA, Corrinthia, Fauconier (Ian), of Fort Morgan, CO and Carleen Similton (Wendell) of Evans, GA; sons: Cedric Crawford (Brenda), Carlos Crawford (Marylin), and son-in-law Joseph Brim Sr.; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister, Ms. Rachel Penn; sisters-in-law: Mrs. Carolyn Miller and Mrs. Almeda Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, two life-long friends Mr. Joe Lyles and Mr. James McClinton and many other dear friends.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at White Rock Baptist Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
