Mrs. Lovie K. Hart

Lovie Vanilla King Hart was born to the late Love Benson King and Toney King in Forsyth County on October 7, 1918.

She completed her education at Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and was a graduate of McLean College of Stenography.

Mrs. Hart was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and Piedmont Leaf Tobacco Company.

Following a period of illness, Mrs. Hart passed away in Leland, North Carolina on Thursday, May 23, 2013. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Clinton Hart, Sr.; three sisters, Mozelle Dolly King Garrett, Lillian Oscarbell Poole and Lizzie King; and three brothers, Clyde, Bellus and Toney King.

Survivors include four children, Geraldine Carolyn Hart, Peggy Ann Hart Galloway, Christine Lorraine Hart Cooper (Harvey) and Monroe Clinton Hart, Jr. (Johnsie Lewis); nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a brother, George King (Audrey) of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Blackman of Philadelphia, PA and Sarah Hart of the city; a brother-in-law, Barney Hart (Katherine) of Atlanta, GA; a niece, Edith Mae King of Atlanta, GA; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1l: 00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Family visitations will take place thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
